Sodium Bicarbonate FFG
Sodium Bicarbonate, NaHCO3, is a white, crystalline solid which often appears as a white powder. It is commonly used alongside Citric Acid in bath bomb making. A bath bomb works when the Citric Acid and Sodium Bicarbonate come into contact with water and break down. Positively charged Sodium breaks away from the Sodium Bicarbonate whilst negatively charged Hydrogen breaks away from the Citric Acid, these react together, giving off Carbon Dioxide which creates the fizzy/bubbly effect in the water.
