Borax Anhydrous is a white, odorless, solid crystal structure. It emits more heat by dissolving slower in water that its hydrate form. Glass – Used a the boron source, in the manufacturing of borosilicate glass,. Superior to borax decahydrate/pentahydrate in terms of bulk density and faster melting with less energy. It reduces furnace emission and increases production. Can be used together with boric acid/boric oxide in order to keep the sodium oxide/boron oxide ration under control. Metallurgy/Casting – Used as a fusing agent, it dissolves metal oxide impurities by reducing the melting temperature in the production of ferrous steel and non-ferrous metals. Very good solvent for metal oxides at high temperatures, it prevents oxidation of the air and surface by covering metals. Primarily used as a protective slag in steel production, creates an alloy within steel at high temperatures. Reduce the melting temperature of slag in gold refineries, increases the amount of fluid slag at lower temperatures. Detergent/Cleaning – Used in laundry and surface cleaning and in hand soaps containing borax, common in the controlled dissolution cleaning agents. Due to its slow dissolution qualities, it is used for disinfection and water purification purposes. Please click here to view our delivery information and costs.
