Poly Aluminium Chloride is an acidic solution. It has the molecular formula Aln(OH)mCl3n-m. Classified as corrosive at higher concentrations, it is typically yellow in colour, it is miscible with water at all concentrations. It is not a single product, but a spectrum of polymers which are characterised by their strength (usually in % Al2O3) and basicity. What is poly aluminium chloride used for?
Poly aluminium chloride (also spelled polyaluminum chloride, and widely known simply as PAC) is a high-efficiency coagulant used to remove suspended solids, phosphates and colour from water. Compared with traditional aluminium sulphate, PAC works across a wider pH range, produces less sludge and performs well in cold water.

Handling and safety
PAC solution is mildly corrosive. Wear gloves and eye protection when handling, store in the original closed container away from alkalis, and rinse splashes with plenty of water. A full safety data sheet (SDS) is available on request.
