Granulated Sugar 25kg in bags Granulated sugar, also known as regular sugar, comes from either a sugar cane or sugar beets. It is usually sold with an unidentified plant source because whether it comes from a cane or beet, they are, chemically speaking, identical. White sugar is sucrose made from the sugar cane. Cane juice is extracted by crushing the canes to release the juice, this is then filtered with slake lime to remove dirt and debris that may have arisen during the harvesting process. This is then thickened into syrup through a boiling process, to produce the crystallised matter it is boiled until crystals form. The mixture of crystals and syrup is spun in a centrifuge to separate the two. The crystals of raw sugar are then dried with hot air. Raw sugar is then shipped from the country of origin where it is again liquified and processed to remove any remaining colour or non-sugar and then centrifuged to remove the remaining liquid from the sugar crystals. The sugar crystals are then ground to the necessary sized crystal. The left over liquid is used to create molasses. Granulated Sugar 25kg is the most commonly used sugar in the food industry. The small crystals are ideal for bulk handling and are not susceptible to caking.   Please click here to view our delivery information and costs.
