PDV Salt 12.5KG - Pure Dried Vacuum - 12.5KG PDV (Pure Dried Vacuum) salt is an extremely versatile type of salt as it has such a wide application range. It is used during water treatment, dye and textile manufacture, shampoo manufacture and is also used in animal nutrition. In water treatment, it is suitable for large commercial water softeners where the salt is discharged into a bulk saturator.
PDV Salt 12.5KG is pure dried vacuum salt, it’s a high purity, free flowing salt manufactured by evaporating purified brine under a vacuum before being packed for delivery. As pure dried vacuum salt is manufactured to strict hygiene standards, it is extremely pure; as a result, it is used as an important ingredient in the food industry, where it is used for flavour enhancement and food preservation. Handling and storage
Non-hazardous. Store off the floor in dry conditions — PDV salt is hygroscopic and will cake if it takes on moisture. SDS available on request.

Is PDV salt food grade?
Our food grade PDV salt meets BS 998 / food purity standards. If you are buying for food production, choose the food grade bag and we will supply full documentation.
What is the difference between PDV salt and table salt?
They are essentially the same product — table salt is PDV salt, usually with anti-caking agent and sometimes iodine added. Our PDV salt is supplied without additives unless stated.
Can I use PDV salt in a water softener?
Yes, although tablet or granular softener salt is often more economical for large softeners. PDV dissolves quickly and leaves minimal residue.
